Case Study: Lea Road, Harpenden

The Overview.

When a building inspector recommends your company to his neighbour you know you’re doing something right. Sam and Russell already had plans drawn up by an architect to extend and open up the back of their house to create a spacious family oriented living, dining and kitchen space.

The couple needed more than just a builder – they needed someone who would catch the vision of what they hoped to achieve and bring the plans to life. Mosaic Bespoke’s strength is spending time to find out exactly what clients want from their new space and how they want to use it.

The Challenges & Solutions

Mosaic Bespoke quickly came to understand that while the new space was important for Sam and Russell’s growing family, it would also need to incorporate and complement a large collection of furniture and fittings that the couple had accumulated over the years – enabling them both to be used and also shown off to their best advantage.

Sympathetic design, simplicity of lines, colour and materials, attention to detail, continuous dialogue between builder and client, and high quality workmanship all combined to create an environment that works for Sam and Russell as a setting both for family life and for their collections.

The couple had specific features they wanted incorporated. They particularly wanted a large frameless roof window in the kitchen dining extension and had discussed this with several prospective builders. Mosaic Bespoke was the first to actually understand their vision and achieve it – the result speaks for itself with light flooding into their new living space.

Sam and Russell are delighted not only with the results of the build but also with the way the work was carried out. They were able to stay at home most of the time the team was on site, which was really important to them. Mosaic Bespoke never forgot they weren’t just on a building site – they were in their home.

The result is a light and bright kitchen/dining/living space opening out onto a superb decked outdoor living area – a perfect place for the family to grow surrounded by their treasured possessions.
